Gastronomic Event in Jakarta: A Taste of Spain
On Tuesday, September 22, the Spain Tourism Board in Singapore kicked off the first of three regional gastronomic events with an exclusive evening hosted at ERRE & Urrechu in Gran Meliá Jakarta, organized with the support of the agency Petrichor.
This initiative forms part of an ongoing collaboration between Turespaña and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) to celebrate the quality, diversity, and rich heritage of Spanish food products and quality designations across international markets.

An Interactive Evening Across Spain’s Culinary Map
Jakarta was chosen as the starting point for this series of culinary gatherings, bringing together a select group of key opinion leaders, influencers, and press representatives for a dynamic and interactive evening.
Starting at 6:00 PM, guests stepped into an immersive culinary journey led by Chef Alejandro García, Chef de Cuisine at ERRE & Urrechu.
Born in Seville and bringing over a decade of experience across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, Chef Alejandro guided the attendees through live cooking stations, sharing the secrets of preparing an authentic paella, highlighting the distinct flavors between Northern and Southern Spain, and presenting a curated selection of regional dishes to taste along the way.

A Special Gift: Our Southeast Asia Spanish Chefs Guide
To complete the experience, guests received an exclusive booklet developed by the Spain Tourism Board in Singapore in partnership with top Spanish chefs working across Southeast Asia, framed within the collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) under the #Alimentos de España strategy to highlight the quality, diversity, and rich heritage of Spanish food products.
Designed to showcase Spain as a premier travel and culinary destination, this guide gives featured chefs creative freedom to present personal stories and signature recipes for tapas and pintxos, the defining symbol of Spain’s social dining culture, paired with imagery of the regions that inspired them to bridge cultures through the universal language of food.
