From May 5 to May 7 of 2026, the Spain Tourism Board successfully concluded a series of exclusive events and networking sessions aimed at tourism professionals and travel agents in Indonesia and Malaysia. These meetings served to strengthen commercial ties, showcase the latest developments in the destination and explore new opportunities for collaboration in the region.

First edition of the Roadshow in Medan (Indonesia)

The events began on 5 May with the Spain Tourism Board’s first official roadshow in Medan, held at the Aryaduta Hotel. The event focused on showcasing Spain’s potential as a key European destination to local agencies. The session featured special contributions from the Catalonia Tourist Board and Galileo Indonesia, and concluded with a networking lunch to strengthen strategic partnerships.

Luxury Tourism Showcase in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

On 6 May, the event moved to the Las Meninas venue at TRX, Kuala Lumpur, for the Spain Luxury Travel Showcase. This working lunch brought together 24 of the leading partners in Malaysia’s tourism sector. Following the registration of attendees, detailed commercial presentations were given by representatives from the Spain Tourism Board, the Catalonia Tourist Board and The Bicester Collection. The day concluded with a prize draw, an official photo session and a lively lunch to exchange views and strengthen business relationships.

Professional meeting in Penang (Malaysia)

The grand finale of this tour took place on 7 May at the Hola by Javu restaurant in Penang. This exclusive gathering, held in a relaxed atmosphere, was specifically designed to support local travel agents in promoting Spain. During the afternoon, valuable insights were shared regarding the cultural and gastronomic offerings and the diversity of Spain’s various regions, laying the foundations for future collaborations in the Malaysian market.
