The Tourism Office of Spain in Mumbai, together with the Siglo Foundation for Tourism and the Arts of Castilla and León, invited two travel agents from India to participate in the Castilla and León Tourism Products and Services Market, held at the Miguel Delibes Cultural Center on June 2nd, 2026 in Valladolid. This initiative, organized by the Regional Government of Castilla and León through the Siglo Foundation for Tourism and the Arts of Castile and León, aimed to promote and facilitate the marketing of tourism products and services offered by companies in the region. As a complement to the event, from June 1st to 4th, a familiarization trip was organised with visits to: Finca Montepedroso - Rueda (Valladolid); Centro Astronómico de Tiedra; Tiedra de Lavanda; Abba Las Viñas Tiedra Hotel Rural; Cigales Wine Route, Monastery of Santa María de Palazuelos; Trigueros Castle;  Baltanás for underground wineries and Museo del Cerrato Castellano; tour along the Camino de Santiago through the only navigable section of the French Way; Frómista; the Campos del Renacimiento Route; Palencia. The program was designed to offer an overview of Castilla y León as an inland destination combining heritage, wine tourism, gastronomy, cultural identity and authentic experiences, with special attention to products that are highly marketable internationally, including India. At Travellers Planet, we are now introducing Castilla y León — one of Spain's most extraordinary yet underexplored regions — as a meaningful addition to our existing Spain tours. This is not a standalone destination but a carefully curated extension of two to three nights, seamlessly woven into our current itineraries to offer our clients something genuinely different: less crowded medieval towns, world-class wine tourism, and a gastronomy culture unlike anything else in Europe” Tony Mathew from Travellers Planet – Kochi (India) “The one-to-one meetings provided valuable insights into the region’s diverse tourism offerings, ranging from wine tourism and gastronomy to heritage, culture, rural experiences, accommodation and specialised tourism activities. The workshop proved to be an excellent platform for networking, exchanging ideas and gaining a deeper understanding of the tourism potential of Castilla y León. The journey not only enhanced my knowledge of the destination but also strengthened my conviction that Castilla y León has enormous potential for the Indian market” Dorothy de Albuquerque from Travco Holidays – Goa (India)
