Premium hotel offer grows in the Balearic Islands
Four 5-star and luxury hotels to open this summer in Mallorca and Ibiza
The hotel sector in the Balearic Islands continues to expand with the inauguration this summer of four new 5-star hotels, which will reinforce the archipelago’s premium offer. Mallorca and Ibiza will be the settings for these openings, which promise exclusive wellness and leisure experiences. Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra will open its doors in Calvià, on the southwest coast of Mallorca, in an area with a wide range of beaches and coves of extraordinary beauty. This luxury hotel of the renowned Asian chain will open in the second quarter of 2025 and will have 131 rooms and villas with sea views, as well as wellness services and a high-level gastronomic offer.

Puro Group will launch a new 160-room resort in Santa Ponça, also in Calvià. Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa 5* – Oasis del Mar is a project that will include a contemporary design and a proposal focused on wellness, combining the Mediterranean identity with a concept of relaxed luxury. The Aethos Hotels chain will also make its debut in Spain with the opening of a 5-star boutique hotel starting operations in June in Mallorca. The Aethos Mallorca, located on a cliff in the picturesque village of Peguera, will have 61 luxury rooms and suites, offering direct access to the sea and views of the Mediterranean. In Ibiza, the Destino Pacha Ibiza hotel will reopen in 2025 as a 5-star establishment under the name Five Ibiza. New features include open-air bathtubs on room terraces, state-of-the-art mini-bars and an open-air gym for the first time.
