Art and nature come together in the Sierra de Francia region
Four themed trails offer a unique experience of art, culture, and nature in Salamanca
The Caminos de Arte en la Naturaleza (Art in Nature Trails) offer an innovative experience that blendws hiking, contemporary art, and natural heritage in the Sierra de Francia, Salamanca (Castile and León). These four circular routes wind through the Las Batuecas-Sierra de Francia Natural Reserve, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. These trails, ranging from 4 to 6 miles, invite visitors to discover sculptures and artistic installations seamlessly integrated into the landscape, making them a popular draw for tourists.
Camino de los Prodigios (Route of the Wonders): a path between the real and the imaginary
Connecting Miranda del Castañar and Villanueva del Conde, this route invites hikers to explore an environment where nature and art dialogue through unexpected works, such as beds distributed along the trail, sculptures, cages suspended over the valley, or even bronze feathers. Together, they awaken the visitor's imagination and amazement.

Asentadero-Bosque de los Espejos (Meeting Ground – Forest of Mirrors Route): reflections of history and landscape
This itinerary, which links Sequeros, Las Casas del Conde and San Martín del Castañar, has been designed as a series of reflections between art and nature. Its sculptures, inspired by the tradition and memory of the site, transform the walk into a unique sensory experience. During the tour, works of art such as La Torre de Intercambio (The Exchange Tower), La Casa de Árbol (The Tree House), and Aguja (Needle) have been planted.
Camino de las Raíces (The Route of the Roots): spirituality in the heart of La Alberca
This trail begins in La Alberca and winds through forests of oak and chestnut trees. It leads to the hermitage of Majadas Viejas, passing landmarks like the Montón de Cantos and the stones where the Loa en la Romería de la Virgen is performed. The path is steeped in memory, revealing traces of those who once lived here — remains that reflect their daily life, work, imagination, and beliefs, and bear witness to a history deeply tied to the land.
Camino del Agua (The Water Route): art between Mogarraz and Monforte de la Sierra
Following the water course, this route, which connects the towns of Mogarraz and Monforte, presents a combination of art and natural dynamism. The tour offers six sculptural pieces subtly integrated into the environment. The works, far from imposing themselves, merge with the landscape, blurring the boundaries between artistic creation and the natural world.
