Australia Roadshow

Australia Roadshow

November marked the beginning of a dynamic and productive journey across New Zealand and Australia, bringing Spain Tourism closer to key travel partners through a series of high-impact events.

The roadshow began on Monday, 24 November in Auckland, where we delivered Spain Tourism Updates to our New Zealand travel partners. The day opened with welcoming remarks from the Ambassador of Spain to New Zealand, followed by presentations from the Spain Tourism Board and Qatar Airways. An interactive session with our Spanish partners highlighted Spain’s diverse experiences and growing opportunities in the market.

The event concluded with speed networking sessions, Spanish cuisine, and a vibrant Flamenco performance, creating an inspiring afternoon of connection, culture, and collaboration.

On Tuesday, 25 November, the Spain Tourism Summit officially kicked off in Melbourne. The day featured a full morning of one-on-one business meetings between Australian travel agents and Spanish partners, including regional and city tourism boards, hotels, and DMCs who travelled from Spain to participate.

After the meetings, guests enjoyed a Spanish-inspired lunch. Renowned chef Frank Camorra hosted a live cooking demonstration, preparing paella and pulpo gallego while sharing the stories and flavours behind these iconic dishes. The day concluded with an evening networking event with retail agents, marking a strong and memorable first stop in Australia.

The summit continued in Sydney on Wednesday, 26 November, with another busy morning of one-on-one business meetings that encouraged meaningful conversations between Australian travel professionals and Spanish partners. The program carried on into the evening with a networking event for retail agents, offering a relaxed environment to strengthen relationships.

On Thursday, 27 November, Sydney hosted a Spanish-inspired breakfast alongside continued engagement with the local market. During this stop, we also met with key media to present Spain’s current Slow Tourism campaign, “Think you know Spain? Think again.” The campaign promotes a more conscious and meaningful way to experience Spain through local culture, gastronomy, nature, and lesser-known destinations, encouraging travellers to slow down and connect more deeply with the places they visit.

Later on 27 November, the roadshow moved to Perth, where we hosted an evening networking event with retail agents, setting the stage for our final stop.

On Friday, 28 November, the summit concluded in Perth with a packed morning of one-on-one business meetings between Australian travel agents and Spanish partners. The day also included an interactive Spanish lunch featuring a “make your own sangria” experience, adding a fun and hands-on cultural element to the program.

We extend our sincere thanks to all our Spanish partners, including regional and city tourism boards, hotels, and DMCs, as well as to the Australian and New Zealand travel agents, retail partners, and media who joined us across Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth.

Their time, engagement, and collaboration are what make initiatives like this truly impactful.
