Andalucía Blossom in Batik
The event “Andalucía Blossom in Batik”, held in Jakarta on 16 September 2025, celebrated the deep cultural and artistic ties between Andalusia and Indonesia. Organized by Spain Tourism Board, with the collaboration of the Spanish Embassy in Indonesia and the Las Fuentes Foundation of Córdoba, the initiative brought together local influencers, media representatives, tour operators, and premium travel agencies from across Java.

The morning session featured the launch of Turespaña’s new Andalusia travel guide for the Indonesian market, followed by a presentation from the Las Fuentes Foundation highlighting the historical connections between Al-Andalus and the Islamic heritage of the region.

A key moment of the day was the unveiling of twelve Batik artworks by Andalusian artist Rocío Tovar, under the title “Andalucía Blossom in Batik”. The collection, inspired by Andalusia and created using Indonesia’s UNESCO-recognized Batik technique, aims to serve as a cultural and artistic bridge between both regions.

The evening program focused on tourism promotion, introducing Andalusia as a destination of cultural and spiritual depth to Indonesian tour operators who organize Muslim-friendly trips to Spain. The Spanish Ambassador to Indonesia, Bernardo de Sicart, attended the event and expressed his appreciation for the collaborative effort between the artist, the Las Fuentes Foundation, and Turespaña.
