WORKSHOP: CULTURE AND WINE & GASTRONOMY IN CASTILE AND LEÓN

The Spanish Tourist Office in Rome (also responsible for promoting Spain as a tourist destination in Türkiye) took part in the Castile and León Workshop, held from 1 to 4 June 2026 in collaboration with the Regional Government of Castile and León. As part of this initiative, the Spanish Tourist Office in Rome facilitated the participation of three travel agents, one from Italy and two from Türkiye, in a programme combining a professional workshop and a familiarisation trip. The initiative aimed to showcase the wide range of tourism experiences available in Castile and León, highlighting its historical and cultural heritage, wine tourism, gastronomy and inland tourism experiences.

During the programme, participants had the opportunity to discover some of the main tourism assets of the provinces of Valladolid and Palencia, including wine routes, rural tourism projects, cultural heritage sites and wine and gastronomy experiences. In addition, the workshop held in Valladolid enabled the travel agents to meet with tourism companies and organisations from Castile and León, enhancing their knowledge of the region's tourism offer and its commercial potential in the Italian and Turkish markets. The programme provided an overview of Castile and León as an inland destination that combines historical heritage, culture, nature, wine tourism, gastronomy and a strong regional identity through authentic, high-quality experiences.
