PRESSTRIP CULTURE AND GASTRONOMY OF GRAN CANARIA (GREECE)
The Spanish Tourism Office (OET) in Rome has collaborated in the organization of a press trip to Gran Canaria, held from 4 to 8 May 2026 and aimed at a group of journalists from the Greek market. The initiative, organized in collaboration with Turismo de Gran Canaria, sought to showcase the island’s diversity as a tourist destination, highlighting its natural, cultural, and gastronomic heritage, as well as its wide range of year-round experiences. The trip brought together leading Greek journalists from tourism, culture, and lifestyle media, including Vasilis Thanopoulos (Homo Evolution / Antivirus Mag), Aspasia Kakari (Kathimerini / Is Greece), Katerina Marinaki (Travel & Taste / Small Cyclades / Greek Radio), Katerina Manta (Ethnos / K Magazine), Eufrosini Polizoí (In2life / Front Row), and Vasileios Tsounis (Travel Ionian / TV1).

During the itinerary, participants were able to discover the essence of the island through a rich and varied program that combined visits to the capital and its historic districts, experiences related to local craftsmanship and traditions, as well as the discovery of its enogastronomic offer, with special attention to local products such as wine, rum, and coffee. The program also included the exploration of emblematic natural areas such as the volcanic interior, the northern valleys, and the southern part of the island, along with cultural and gastronomic experiences that provided an authentic and immersive insight into the Canarian lifestyle, reinforcing the image of Gran Canaria as a diverse, comprehensive, and attractive destination throughout the year.
