B2B MEETINGS AT MATCH BILBAO BIZKAIA 2026

From 6 to 10 October, the Spanish Tourism Office in Rome took part in Match Bilbao Bizkaia 2026 with three tourism professionals: two Turkish travel agents and one Greek travel agent. This tourism promotion initiative, organised by Bilbao Bizkaia with the collaboration of Turespaña, brought together 42 tour operators from 14 countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Professional networking and B2B meetings with local tourism businesses were at the heart of the programme, giving participants the opportunity to establish business contacts, gain first-hand knowledge of the destination’s tourism offering and identify new business opportunities in their respective markets. The programme was complemented by visits showcasing the main attractions of Bilbao and Bizkaia, from their cultural heritage and urban offerings to their natural landscapes and coastline. Highlights included the Urdaibai area, Gernika, Bermeo, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Urkiola Natural Park and the Bizkaia Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The experience also included a visit to San Sebastián and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
