ARCHITECTURE AND WINE: LA RIOJA IN ISTANBUL

The Spanish Tourist Office in Rome, also responsible for promoting Spain as a tourist destination in Türkiye, organised the "Architecture and Wine" event in Istanbul on 17 and 18 June, in collaboration with La Rioja Tourism, the Cervantes Institute in Istanbul and the Barrio de la Estación Association. The initiative aimed to present La Rioja as a leading wine tourism destination, highlighting the close relationship between wine, architecture, culture and heritage. The event brought together travel agents, tour operators, media representatives and other key opinion leaders from the Turkish market, who had the opportunity to discover the region's tourism offer through a destination presentation and a wine tourism experience.

Architecture and wine

The programme included a guided wine tasting featuring six emblematic wineries from the Barrio de la Estación in Haro. The activity introduced participants to the richness of La Rioja's wine culture while showcasing the Barrio de la Estación as one of Spain's leading wine tourism destinations. The event highlighted the combination of wine tourism, architecture, gastronomy and heritage as key elements of La Rioja's tourism offer for the Turkish market.
