The Tourism Office of Spain in India, in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Languages of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), and FEDELE (Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners) organized an event titled “Español + España = ¡Planazo!” in Pune on 8th November 2025. Around 80 students and professors of Spanish came together to share their interest in the language and discover new ways to experience it in Spain.

Held at the Spanish restaurant Loco Otro in Pune, the event combined information and experience with presentations on how to plan a language trip to Spain and explore short-term linguistic immersion programs. This was followed by interactive games and a tasting of Spanish gastronomy, allowing participants to experience the language and culture in a fun and engaging way.

Students and professors alike appreciated the initiative, highlighting that it provided them with valuable insights into studying Spanish in Spain and inspired them to plan future academic and cultural experiences there.

This activity marks the beginning of a new phase in the promotion of language tourism by the Tourism Office of Spain in India. In 2026, The Tourism Office of Spain in India will further this objective through participation in the Jornadas Inversas de Lengua – Andalucía and the V Semana del Español, organized by FEDELE, where the office will sponsor the participation of professors of Spanish.
