A new way to discover Spain through its blossoming landscapes

Seasonal routes and sensory journeys that reveal the country’s natural beauty

Spain unfurls a map of colors and aromas that changes with each season, inviting you to discover the country through its blooms. From winter almond trees to summer seas of lavender, cherry trees or sunflowers, each region reveals a spectacle that attracts travelers seeking authentic experiences that are connected to the land. To travel through Spain following the calendar of its blooms is to enter a country that expresses itself through intense colors and landscapes that mark the rhythm of the seasons. Each flower is a window into the identity of an area, a fleeting moment that invites travel with awakened senses. The journey begins in Mallorca, where between January and March the almond trees cover the island in soft whites and beautiful pinks. The routes through the Serra de Tramuntana, Raiguer or Llucmajor showcase a dazzling mosaic that heralds nature’s awakening and envelops the visitor in a serene and deeply Mediterranean ambiance. In February and March, the Vega Alta del Segura, in the Region of Murcia, is transformed into a pink canvas with the flowering of Cieza. It has over 13,000 hectares of stone fruit orchards displaying shades of mauve, fuchsia and white that cover entire hills, turning every route into a sensory journey where nature and agricultural tradition intertwine. April is synonymous with white in the Jerte Valley (Extremadura). The cherry trees bloom in waves, creating a rolling effect that envelops villages and slopes. The Cherry Blossom Festival adds a cultural element that celebrates the valley’s memory and transforms the visit into an encounter with the history and identity of the region.

In Zamora, every spring the fields ignite with the vibrant red of poppies, an ephemeral landscape that seduces those seeking natural beauty in its purest form. By June and July, La Alcarria is dyed violet. Brihuega (Castile-La Mancha) celebrates the Lavender Festival, a prolonged evening among aromatic fields where music, gastronomy and scenery merge in an almost dreamlike atmosphere. Summer continues to paint golden landscapes with the blooming of sunflowers. In Carmona (Andalusia), between May and June, about 74,000 hectares are filled with light and attract thousands of travelers seeking this burst of vitality. Further north, in the Burgos region of La Bureba, between July and August the “golden tide” surrounds Briviesca. To follow the bloom seasons in Spain is to discover a country that beats with each season and invites international travelers to be moved by its ever-changing nature.
