Wine tourism in Spain with high-value proposals

Meticulously designed experiences integrate wine, landscape, and excellent gastronomy across leading wineries

Spain Through Its Wineries, an initiative launched by the Spanish Renowned Brands Forum, has established itself as a premium wine-tourism proposal, bringing together 31 wineries from different regions under shared quality standards and a common vision of travel. Its catalog of 85 exclusive sustainable and carefully designed offerings turns wine into the central thread along which to discover the Spanish territory from a cultural, gastronomic, and emotional perspective. Luxury wine tourism has evolved into a broader concept where the experience transcends the winery tour to become a comprehensive proposal, with a network of boutique experiences designed without crowds and with a strong emphasis on detail, exclusivity, and connection with the surroundings. From the heroic vineyards hanging over the Sil canyon in Ribeira Sacra, to the centuries-old wine cathedrals of the Marco de Jerez, across the Golden Mile of the Ribera del Duero or the Atlantic vineyards of Rías Baixas, Spain showcases a wine geography as diverse as it is unique. Each experience has been designed to leave a lasting impression. In Galicia, Mar de Frades reveals an Atlantic narrative that ranges from tastings on a sailboat to traditional cooking workshops in which local products and gastronomic identity merge to form a participatory experience. Also in the northwest, Gargalo serves up a sensory journey around Monterrei, which also includes an inclusive wine-tourism dimension in the heart of nature, while the Pazo de San Mauro invites visitors on a discovery of an estate where heritage, landscape, and tranquility structure every moment.

In Ribera del Duero, Quinta Sardonia and Bodega Emina deepen the relationship between wine and territory through vineyard tours, tastings, and museum spaces, while Conde San Cristóbal reinforces this approach from a historic estate recognized for its organic viticulture and respect for the terroir. At Abadía Retuerta, landscape, history, and craftsmanship intertwine within an itinerary that culminates in a tasting of historic vintages preserved in the Monks’ Cave since 1996.

From historic south to La Rioja, a seamless model

The south offers up a very particular heritage and cultural dimension. In Jerez de la Frontera, Tío Pepe combines history, architecture, and experiences that extend to its renowned music festival, consolidating wine as a catalyst for cultural events that go beyond the glass. Further inland, the Sevillian Hacienda Guzmán invites you to have breakfast among centennial olive trees, blending agricultural roots with modern sophistication, learning to taste extra virgin olive oil and understand the emotional and cultural bond that revolves around olive oil.

La Rioja rounds off the panorama with offerings that integrate innovation and culture. Vivanco stands out as an international benchmark thanks to its museum dedicated to wine; Montecillo surprises with an escape room unveiling three centuries of history; and Beronia and Ramón Bilbao provide experiences that combine gastronomy, landscape, and spaces designed for enjoyment. Beyond individual leisure, Spain Through Its Wineries incorporates MICE tourism with a selection of wineries that serve as settings for professional meetings, incentives, and corporate events. These spaces, equipped with appropriate infrastructure and located in highly valuable environments, foster creativity, cohesion, and the creation of bonds, providing added value that is difficult to replicate in more standard convention hotels. All these proposals share a strong commitment to the environment, embodied in sustainable practices, the use of renewable energy, the promotion of local products, and the protection of biodiversity. This is an approach that not only strengthens the positioning of luxury wine tourism in Spain but also contributes to a more balanced tourism model aligned with the new demands of the global traveler.
