The Parador de Ibiza redefines heritage luxury in the Mediterranean
History, contemporary design, and premium experience come together in Ibiza
After more than a decade of development, marked by archaeological discoveries and an investment of close to 47 million euros, the Parador de Ibiza opened its doors last March. Located in Dalt Vila, this property—part of the Paradores de Turismo network—helps redefine the island’s positioning toward an even more cultural and sustainable model, aligned with the new demands of the tourism market. At the highest point of the city of Ibiza, the Parador is integrated within a site of exceptional value, transcending its accommodation role. Sleeping among centuries-old walls, wandering through courtyards and terraces laden with history, and enjoying rooms designed for rest and privacy make the stay a unique experience, as comfort dialogues with centuries of architecture and Mediterranean landscape. The establishment is located in the former Castle of La Almudaina, within Dalt Vila: the city’s historical acropolis, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a strategic destination, bearing witness to more than 2,000 years of history and preserving vestiges of Phoenician, Roman, Islamic, medieval, and Renaissance cultures, which reinforces the project’s unique cultural and heritage value.

The Parador’s architecture is the result of a complex and respectful restoration that has preserved the identity of the fortified ensemble, integrating its different historical stages into a modern hotel project. There, walls, bastions, and ancient spaces formerly dedicated to military purposes coexist with current areas designed for guest comfort, maintaining a balance with Ibiza’s urban surroundings and landscape. Spread across five buildings, the Parador de Ibiza is made up of 66 rooms and presents a versatile product, combining stays focused on relaxation with spaces designed for events and experiences. Its offering includes a wellness area, outdoor pool, solarium, café and restaurant, as well as lounges and terraces. The courtyard, transformed into a multifunctional space, ensures multiple possibilities for hosting professional meetings and cultural events in a unique setting. The experience is rounded off with careful artistic integration: sculptures, photographs, and contemporary paintings engage in dialogue with historic architecture and a museum exhibition of archeological remains, offering a contemporary interpretation of the island through its light, creative energy, and cultural identity. In terms of gastronomy, the Parador de Ibiza strengthens its commitment to regional cuisine and locally sourced products, linked to the territory and based on quality local ingredients. This focus, aligned with the Paradores network’s commitment to sustainability, allows visitors to enjoy a culinary experience consistent with the environment. Its proximity to the maritime port and historic center makes it possible to combine the establishment's tranquility with a broad range of leisure, culture, shopping, and gastronomy all within walking distance, enhancing the island's appeal beyond the summer months. With this opening, the Paradores network is now present in every Spanish region and adds an emblematic asset combining history, sustainability, and experience.
