The most original venues for holding events in Spain
Discover amazing venues for meetings, incentives and celebrations in unique settings.
2024 was a key year for the consolidation of meetings, incentives, conferences and events tourism (MICE) in Spain. The sector has been strong and activity has grown in the major destinations, but also in the intermediate and less traditional ones. Personalisation, immersive experiences connected to the local environment have been decisive and the country continues to gain positions because it has unique areas that not only offer first class facilities, but also provide a differential value thanks to their history, design or location. These are some of the most original places. Events on a historic sailing ship (Basque Country). For those looking for a different setting, the Bilbao-based Fundación Barco Atyla allows meetings and events to be held on board a wooden sailing ship inspired by 18th century schooners. With a capacity for 100 people, this boat sails along different routes, offering an exclusive experience at sea. It can be hired for corporate events, incentive trips, team building days or even for a professional retreat.

Just 11 km from Asturias airport, its museum offers venues for business events. Its 200 year-old underground galleries, a wooden derrick declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and multi-purpose rooms are of particular interest. In addition, as a culmination to an immersion in a sector that marked the socio-economic development of the region, it offers a visit to the 19th century mining town of Arnao.

An old printing press (Region of Madrid). Green Patio, in Madrid’s financial district, next to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, is a multi-purpose venue located in a restored historic printing press. With almost 2,000m² of floor space, retractable sunroofs and panelled rooms, it can host events for up to 500 people in a sophisticated and sustainable environment.
Activities in the courtyard of a medieval castle (Castilla-La Mancha). Belmonte Castle, in Cuenca, was built in 1456 and is notable for its Gothic-Mudejar architecture and its unique star-shaped ground plan. Restored in 2010, it offers historic venues for corporate events, from its parade ground or interior rooms to its walled setting. Event in a picturesque market (Andalusia). The Lonja del Barranco Market has its roots in 19th century Seville and initially functioned as a fish market and meeting point for traders. Nowadays, it is a modern gastronomic venue with more than 2,500 m² and offers the possibility of organising events with views of the Guadalquivir River and a high-quality culinary offer.
