Navarre, a cycling paradise that captivates with its landscapes and its soul
Unique cycling experiences amidst mountains, deserts and forests
Navarre has become established as one of Spain’s great cycling territories thanks to its combination of extraordinary landscapes, a culture deeply rooted in cycling and a network of routes that allows you to cross forests, deserts, mountains, reservoirs and medieval villages all in a single journey. From the Pyrenees to the Bardenas Reales badlands, visitors find quiet roads, gravel tracks, Greenways and MTB areas that reveal a diverse, safe region, deeply connected with outdoor life. To pedal through Navarre is to discover a region that turns each outing into a unique experience. Its geography, shaped by Atlantic and Mediterranean influences, means that the landscape can change completely within just a few kilometers: green valleys, silent ravines, dense beech forests, ancient vineyards or mountains opening up to imposing views. For international visitors, this diversity not only surprises but also multiplies travel possibilities, catering both to experienced cyclists and to those who wish to explore the region at a leisurely pace. Cycling culture is deeply incorporated into local life. Here, the bicycle is part of the region’s identity, visible in perfectly maintained secondary roads, a deeply rooted respect for those who cycle and a network of infrastructures that facilitates travel from start to finish. Five equipped Greenways, dozens of gravel and road routes, major itineraries such as the EuroVelo 1 and 3, the Jacobean entrance through Roncesvalles and iconic natural spaces like the Irati Forest or the Bardenas Reales badlands form a highly attractive cycling tourism map.

The range of services promoted by the Navarre by Bicycle Club and Navarre Tourism has reinforced this commitment, connecting specialized agencies, adapted accommodations, activity companies, repair and rental stations, catering establishments and a presence on main cycling navigation platforms. The ecosystem allows for easy route planning, choosing difficulty profiles and enjoying a professionalized offer that supports travelers at all times. Navarre also stands out for the intensity of its landscapes. In the north, routes starting from Burguete, Roncesvalles or Ochagavía lead to legendary forests, famous mountain passes and low-traffic roads. In the mid-region, castles, monasteries and medieval villages appear along agricultural paths and gentle undulations which are ideal for enjoying gravel rides. In the south, the emblematic Bardenas Reales badlands offer one of the most unique territories on the peninsula, with extensive tracks and viewpoints that reveal an almost lunar aesthetic. Cycling finds its reward in the culture and Navarrese cuisine. Towns preserving centuries of history, valleys with their own identity and prestigious local products — from wine to asparagus and from peppers to artichokes — complete an experience that combines sport, nature and a relaxed way of discovering the area. For those seeking an authentic, diverse cycling destination prepared to welcome the most demanding travelers, Navarre is a safe bet.
