Mallorca and Ibiza expand their MICE offering with new and renovated convention centers

New investments in infrastructure strengthen the Balearic Islands' competitiveness in business tourism

The Balearic Islands are reinforcing their positioning when it comes to meetings, incentives, congresses, and exhibitions tourism (MICE) with new strategic infrastructure. In Mallorca, the construction of the Aubamar Convention Center –the future convention center in Playa de Palma– is already underway, expected to open in June 2025. In Ibiza, the Hotel Torre del Mar has renovated its facilities to attract corporate events, while the Ibiza Congress Center is making progress in the second phase of its expansion, with an investment of 33 million euros and scheduled to open in 2027.

Mallorca: Aubamar Convention Center is committed to promoting year-round tourism

Located between Palma airport and the city, the Aubamar Convention Center will be a versatile space with capacity for more than 250 attendees, state-of-the-art technology, and a culinary offering based on local products. The facilities will adapt to suit various types of events, offering an auditorium, classroom, and other layout styles according to the needs of each occasion. This project represents a decisive step to deseasonalize tourism in Mallorca.

Ibiza: Hotel Torre del Mar and its commitment to business tourism

Dating back over 50 years, the Hotel Torre del Mar, in Platja d'en Bossa, has renovated its facilities to strengthen its presence in the MICE segment. The company has invested in a modern convention center, including a plenary hall for 500 people and modular spaces for events of various formats.

Ibiza: Expansion of the Congress Center by 2027

The Ibiza Congress Center, located in Santa Eulalia del Río, is undergoing a second phase of expansion with an investment of 33 million euros. The project includes an auditorium with a capacity for 1,000 people, modular rooms, and a dining space for banquets. Its expansion is expected to be completed in 2027, consolidating Ibiza’s reputation as a key destination for international congresses and events. With these investments, Mallorca and Ibiza reinforce their positioning in the MICE sector, offering first class infrastructure to attract business tourism and boost activity outside the high season.
