Heritage charm drives the luxury hotel scene in Seville
Three new hotels offering tradition, art, and exclusivity in the heart of the city
At the height of the premium-tourism boom, Seville has cemented its position with the recent opening of luxury boutique hotels in renovated stately homes. Situated in historic locations and restored with a focus on heritage preservation, these venues blend architectural value with an offering tailored to the discerning traveler, attracting quality tourism and driving growth in the city’s upscale hotel sector. Casa del Limonero. Set within a 15th-century mansion, or Casa-Palacio, in the Santa Cruz district, this property has been transformed into a luxury boutique hotel featuring 14 unique rooms spread across three floors. What makes this hotel unique is how it integrates art throughout the establishment, presenting works by Olga de Amaral, Joana Vasconcelos, and Manolo Valdés, complemented by bespoke furniture. Meanwhile, its facilities include a courtyard framed with Mudejar arches, a private pool, a hammam steam bath, and a rooftop terrace with views over the old town.

Cavalta Boutique Hotel. Located in the Triana district, this building was designed by architect Ramón Balbuena y Huertas in the early 20th century. Today, it’s a five-star luxury hotel from Hidden Hotels, with 12 rooms across two floors, a terrace with pool, and its own restaurant. It’s also a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group. Mercer Residences Sevilla. Set in the 17th-century Casa-Palacio de los Marqueses de Nervión, this authentic establishment offers 26 rooms and suites with kitchenettes, while preserving heritage features such as the stunning marble staircase, Baroque columns, and Mozarabic mosaics. With this hotel, Mercer introduces a new hybrid accommodation model, between a tourist residence and a five-star hotel, including reception and concierge services. The building is situated in the historic heart of the city, close to the Metropol Parasol and the cathedral.
