Letter from the General Manager of Turespaña
Dear tourism sector professionals, Within the framework of Turespaña's intense activity, I would like to highlight, on this occasion, two key initiatives with a clear strategic component for the positioning of Spain in international markets.

Firstly, in March, we held the 4th Air Connectivity Conference in Santander, organised jointly with Aena and in collaboration with Tourism of the Government of Cantabria. Santander, a jewel of the so-called Green Spain, offers a unique combination of natural beauty, culture, leisure, shopping and gastronomy; as well as being known worldwide for its link with the sports legend, the golf champion Severiano Ballesteros, after whom its airport is named. This conference brought together over a hundred air transport and promotion professionals and facilitated the one-to-one meeting of thirteen airlines and over 50 Spanish destinations to explore new opportunities for air connections with international markets. On the other hand, from April 24th to 27th of, we held in Dubai a direct conference to support the commercialisation in the Middle East markets. This initiative seeks to connect destinations and companies supplying Spanish tourism products and experiences with tourism agents in the region, whose growth potential is very significant. I encourage you to join us in our activities and I reiterate Turespaña and its network of foreign offices’ desire to work closely with all of you, our strategic partners in international markets. Yours sincerely, Miguel SanzGeneral Manager of Turespaña
