Glamping in Spain: disconnection and nature options under the stars

Five alternatives to experience nature without sacrificing comfort

Glamping, accommodation that combines the experience of camping in the open air with luxury, is spreading and consolidating in Spain as an option for immersion in nature. Throughout the length and breadth of the country there are unique proposals for disconnecting under the stars, with the comforts and services of a hotel. Here are five recommended options: 1. La Dehesa Experiences (Andalusia). Located in Adamuz, in a setting of 27 hectares, this particular accommodation offers stays in safari-style tents raised five metres high, with a chill-out area, 100-metre bubble "Tubbos" and a glass structure also with a private swimming pool. The proposal is complemented with activities such as hiking, horseback riding and stargazing in one of the areas with the least light pollution in Spain. For food lovers, there are organised tastings of the region’s extra virgin olive oil. 2. Xalet de Prades (Catalonia). In the heart of the Prades region, in Tarragona, this rural complex offers accommodation in original wooden igloos and tree houses, where you can fall asleep gazing at the sky or lulled by the murmur of the branches. Some cabins have traditional Nordic bathtubs, ideal for a romantic getaway. As it is located in the Natural Park of the Prades Mountains, it is possible to go on excursions, mountain bike routes and watch the local fauna. 3. Lanzarote Retreats (Canary Islands). Those looking for glamping experiences near the sea, 300 metres from the coast in Lanzarote will find an eco-village with luxury holiday yurts, stone cabins and more spacious cottages. Surrounded by volcanic landscapes and overlooking the ocean, these types of accommodation combine tranquillity and authenticity, and are ideal for families and couples.

4. Hotel Zielo Las Beatas (Castilla-La Mancha). In Villahermosa, Ciudad Real, it is possible to sleep in 20m2 transparent bubbles, without being uncomfortable as you star gaze. Guests can choose between areas with an indoor shower or an outdoor bathtub. This particular accommodation, located in the heart of the La Mancha countryside, allows you to enjoy nature in total privacy. 5. Glamping The Teepee (Castilla y León). In Ávila, nature lovers and those looking for a total disconnection can find the only tepee-style wooden cabins in Spain, equipped with a double bed, fridge, kettle, heating and fan depending on the season. Guests will find chill out areas, a seasonal bar-restaurant and access to nearby natural pools in the Playas Blancas recreational area.
