Spanish destinations that captivate adults, children, and teenagers. Parents and children enjoying trips together
Theme parks, nature trails, and adapted culture set the pace for family tourism
In recent years, family tourism in Spain has incorporated a range of highly attractive activities to be enjoyed together. Catalonia, the Basque Country, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, the Region of Valencia and Madrid stand out with experiences that combine outdoor tours, theme parks, heritage, and activities for the little ones, guaranteeing quality moments and shared memories. Andalusia, in particular, is an inexhaustible destination for those traveling with children. Families can venture into the Las Nieves (Málaga) or Grazalema (Cádiz) mountains to go hiking, explore the famous Greenways cycle paths across tunnels, and discover the Doñana National Park (Huelva)—one of Europe's great natural spaces. This offering is further expanded with unique proposals such as camel rides along the spectacular beaches of Mojácar (Almería) or fun interactive science days at the Granada Science Park. In Catalonia, the Cataluña, hola familia! (“Catalonia, Hello Family!”) program has added new destinations to diversify the region’s tourist attractions: from water activities in Banyoles to the river nature and caves of Benifallet, through the historical heritage of Cardona, the fishing and cultural tradition of L’Escala, or the cultural and leisure activities on offer in Baix Llobregat. The region also takes advantage of its recognition as World Region of Gastronomy 2025 to introduce little ones in the family to healthy, local cuisine.

In the Balearic Islands, Ibiza has created the Ibiza Family Moments program, which guarantees safe, adapted experiences in accommodation, restaurants, and activities. In the town of Santa Eulària des Riu, families can enjoy quiet beaches and hiking trails, organic farms such as Can Muson, and treetop adventure parks with zip lines and suspended bridges. On top of all this, the island further enhances its appeal with cultural proposals such as the Barruguet Festival of family theatre. The Basque Country has also committed itself to family tourism with a unique identity, integrating activities aimed at teenagers and experiences linked to sustainability. From geotourism routes and paragliding to cultural-interpretation centers, the region invites you to discover its authenticity by combining nature, sport, and Basque traditions. In the Region of Valencia, the Tour & Kids club offers activities ranging from river cruises and dramatized routes to theme parks like DinoPark Algar or introductory sailing sessions along the coast. The network of participating towns and villages unveils a whole host of options for adventure and culture, adapted to all ages.

Finally, the Community of Madrid has compiled over 200 plans for families, including visits to Parque Warner and the Zoo Aquarium, tours of cities recognized as World Heritage Sites—Aranjuez and Alcalá de Henares—and excursions to the Sierra de Guadarrama mountains. With this variety of experiences, Spain reinforces its appeal as a family destination, offering a range of proposals that invite visitors to enjoy, learn, and discover together at any time of year.
