Extremadura, a distinctive destination for meetings and incentive travel
Modern facilities, unique accommodations, and authentic local experiences
Extremadura has enhanced its capacity to host meetings and congresses with the addition of new conference centers in Plasencia and Villanueva de la Serena, complementing those already established in Badajoz, Cáceres, and Mérida. Alongside this, under the banner of the Extremadura Convention Bureau, over one hundred organizations are now working together to attract congresses, conventions, and incentive travel, positioning the region as a competitive, sustainable destination with a unique identity on both the national and international markets.

Trendsetting accommodation and cuisine Business tourism in Extremadura can now enjoy a refreshed hotel offering, available in both urban and rural environments. Some of the most noteworthy choices include the Casa Palacio Paredes-Saavedra in Cáceres, the Desconecta2 and La Dehesa de Don Pedro projects in Monesterio, as well as the Hábitat Cigüeña Negra hotel in Sierra de Gata, honored with a Michelin Green Star for its dedication to sustainability. Visitors can also opt for authentic accommodation options such as El Jardín de las Delizias and Glamping El Regajo, both located in the Jerte Valley, enriching the variety on offer for incentive travel.

Gastronomy offers a distinctive edge to the MICE segment. With Atrio (Cáceres) gaining its third Michelin star and Versátil (Zarza de Granadilla) its first, along with a host of other international accolades, Extremadura solidifies its reputation as a premier gastronomic destination, seamlessly blending haute cuisine and local ingredients into corporate event experiences. Experiences that set this destination apart Beyond its facilities, the Extremadura Convention Bureau showcases the region’s wealth through complementary activities tailored for congress and corporate travel attendees. Birdwatching in the Monfragüe National Park, stargazing under light-pollution-free skies, and safari tours across the dehesa pastures to explore the origins of Iberian ham are just some of the unique experiences that allow Extremadura’s tourism offering to stand out from the pack.

The Extremadura Convention Bureau’s MICE product club brings together over 100 members representing private companies and public authorities. Its efforts focus on promoting the destination, advising event planners, and participating in international trade shows and missions. Its goal is clear: to ensure high-quality services, promote sustainability, and help reduce seasonal fluctuations in tourism across the region.
