Airlines reinforce their commitment to Spain with new winter connections

Vueling, EasyJet, Level, AJet, Volotea, and Norwegian expand their network this winter

The 2025/26 winter season unveils a significant boost in international routes connecting Spain with destinations in Europe, Africa, and America. Airlines of various profiles have announced new services ranging from Nordic cities like Rovaniemi to capitals such as New York, alongside cultural metropolises like Strasbourg or Ljubljana, with long-haul offerings that consolidate Spain as a key transport hub. Vueling expands its international schedule with new routes from Barcelona to Ljubljana (Slovenia), Agadir (Morocco), and Strasbourg (France). What’s more, connections to Essaouira (Morocco) and Tirana (Albania) will be extended during the winter season. At Christmas, flights to Zurich from Málaga and Santiago de Compostela will also restart. EasyJet, the British low-cost carrier, is reinforcing its international presence from Spain with over 3.6 million additional seats and the launch of 18 new routes. In particular, they include connections from Barcelona to Rennes, Southampton, Edinburgh, and Leeds; Málaga to Edinburgh; and Almería to Liverpool. Gran Canaria will also enjoy new connections to Nantes and Lyon, while Lanzarote incorporates routes to Birmingham and London Southend. The airline also plans to connect Madrid with Nantes. Level. The long-haul airline based in Barcelona is undertaking the biggest expansion in its winter history. New York has become the fastest-growing destination, with daily flights during peak-demand months. This low-cost subsidiary of Turkish Airlines is touching down in the Spanish market with international flights from Madrid and Barcelona to Ankara.

Volotea. The airline will connect Verona with Seville and Bilbao this winter. This Italian destination offers new direct connections to strengthen mobility between Spain and Italy. Norwegian. From Barcelona, the Nordic airline is inaugurating a direct flight to Rovaniemi (Finland) starting in December. In terms of long-haul destinations, China Southern Airlines will start operating the Guangzhou-Madrid route on December 2, beginning with three weekly flights with plans to increase this to daily flights. Meanwhile, Korean Air will be launching charter flights between Seoul (Republic of Korea) and Málaga during this autumn-winter season, in a prelude to a possible regular line opening in 2026.
