ROME HOSTS THE WTTC GLOBAL SUMMIT 2025
On September 28th, 29th, and 30th, the city of Rome hosted the Rome Global Summit 2025 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. This significant event, organized by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), brought together international leaders with the goal of promoting inclusive and sustainable growth within the global travel and tourism sector.
Since its establishment in 1990, the WTTC has experienced remarkable development while steadfastly upholding its core values: governments recognizing travel and tourism as a top priority, businesses balancing economics with culture and environmental considerations, and a shared commitment to long-term growth and prosperity. The organization unites representatives from across the entire tourism industry spectrum, including airlines, airports, hotels, tour operators, travel agents, online distributors, cruise lines, investment firms, insurance companies, and technology enterprises. The event served as a crucial platform to foster public-private collaboration and support sustainable tourism policies, ensuring tourism remains safe, inclusive, and beneficial for both communities and travelers. WTTC’s research continues to play an essential role in highlighting the economic and social significance of tourism, contributing to job creation and economic development worldwide.

Spain, represented by Turespaña, played a prominent role at this important summit. The Secretary of State for Tourism, Ms. Rosario Sánchez Grau, participated in the panel Bridging Continents: Collaborative Tourism Policies for a Connected Future, alongside the Tourism Ministers of Italy and Saudi Arabia, underscoring the vital importance of international cooperation in tourism policy. Additionally, Mr. Miguel Sanz, Director General of Turespaña, took part in the panel Major Events: Planning for the Future, sharing the stage with distinguished global leaders and highlighting Spain’s commitment to strategic planning and the promotion of major international tourism events.
