SIMYA: Heart & Soul

The Spanish Tourism Office in Rome, accredited to Türkiye, was honored to contribute to Simya: Heart & Soul, a unique artistic project that brought together two powerful cultural expressions— the fire of Flamenco and the spiritual rhythm of Semah—on the same stage at TED Ata Sahne in Ankara, on the evening of 16 November 2025.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Turkey, DMEDD (Association of the Spouses of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Personnel) and the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Muğla. The performance stood as a testament to the unifying power of art and to the cultural dialogue between Spain and Türkiye.

The evening was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests, including Cristina Latorre Sancho, Ambassador of Spain to Turkey; Simay Gümrükçü, President of DMEDD; Federico Caruncho, Honorary Consul of Spain in Muğla; as well as representatives from TÜRSAB Ankara.

Under the general artistic direction of Pınar Ayhan, renowned artists María Pagés, El Arbi El Harti, and Mustafa Özarslan delivered a powerful and inspiring performance, creating a moving encounter between two living traditions that resonate with depth, emotion, and shared humanity.

Tourspain is pleased to have supported this meaningful initiative, which not only strengthens cultural ties between Spain and Türkiye but also highlights the new air connectivity between Ankara and Madrid and Barcelona, now offered by AJet.
