Catalonia travels to the West Coast of the United States to promote its Year of Culture.

From February 18 to 22, 2026, the Spanish Tourism Office in Los Angeles, together with Turespaña and the Catalan Tourist Board, organized a professional mission to strengthen Catalonia’s presence as a tourist destination on the U.S. West Coast.

The program brought together more than 75 travel professionals, media representatives, and content creators, combining business meetings with high-level cultural experiences. Highlights included a dinner with travel agents in Costa Mesa, a presentation-lunch featuring Catalan gastronomy, a short concert by the Orfeó Català at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, designed by Spanish architect Rafael Moneo, and a second professional dinner in Los Angeles.

In parallel, the Orfeó Català performed four concerts alongside the LA Phil, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, presenting Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, further enhancing the cultural visibility of the destination.

The mission also involved collaboration with the airline Level, facilitating direct flights between Barcelona and California, and strengthening business opportunities between the two markets. This initiative reaffirms the commitment of Turespaña and the Catalan Tourist Board to strategically promote Catalonia in priority markets, combining professional engagement, connectivity, and cultural projection.
